The Agents – Now and in the Future

Moderator: Panu Hattunen (Ilosaari)

Speakers:
Jake Hannula
Pia Raitala
Esa Nikkilä

(In finnish)

The music industry is still changing at a rapid pace, and so is the role of the agent. What do artists, event organizers and other industry players expect from an agent today and what will be expected in five or ten years?

What does an artist or partner want from a good agent?

Will artificial intelligence change the work of an agent?

Can a sustainable business be built as a music agent in Finland, or will it force the entire market to internationalize?

What kind of new earning models or services can agents offer in the future?

We share experiences, views and concrete examples of what the role of a music agent is now and how it is developing.

The future of festivals – how will Finnish festivals develop?

Moderator: Juhani Kansi

Speakers:
Marko Riihelä
Ville Koivisto
Harri Vilkuna

(In finnish)

Festivals are no longer just music events. More and more often, they are comprehensive experiences, where services, food and beverage offerings, responsibility, technology and community spirit are emphasized alongside the music. At the same time, the industry is facing new challenges: consumer purchasing behavior has changed, advance ticket sales have slowed down, the consumer profile has changed due to changes in age groups and expansion.

What does the future of the Finnish festival field look like?

What makes a festival an experience?

The festival of the future?

What new services or concepts will be seen in the next 5-10 years?

How important are responsibility, accessibility and well-being services as competitive factors?

If you could implement one major reform for Finnish festivals without budget restrictions, what would it be – and why?

The future of ticket sales – how to get consumers to commit earlier?

Moderator: Heidi Aho

Speakers:
Antti Korhonen, Liveto
Mirva Merimaa, Tiketti
Petri Lehtoranta, Ticketmaster

(In finnish)

Ticket sales have changed significantly in recent years. Although the biggest artists and the most attractive events still sell out quickly, advance ticket sales for many events have slowed down. Consumers make their purchase decisions even later, and at the same time, the decision to leave the ticket completely unpurchased is made more easily than before. This increases uncertainty in the activities of event organizers, makes forecasting difficult and increases financial risk. What needs to change in Finnish ticket sales?

How can this change be responded to?

Why has consumer buying behavior changed?

How can advance ticket sales be strengthened?

The role of the ticketing partner?

Risk sharing and new business models?

How unique is too unique? The music industry wants artists to be unique – but how unique is too unique?

Moderator: Lotta Savolainen, Music X Media

Speakers:
Elsi Sloan, musician, actor, activist
Aizhan Sultan, musician
Johan Lindroos, YLE

(In ENGLISH)

The music industry demands originality from artists, but at the same time, the industry is built on categories, formats, and commercial comprehensibility. What happens to an artist who truly deviates from the mainstream in their music, their ideas, their identity, or their way of being in the world?

(In ENGLISH)

How do you build a successful festival?

Magnus Olsson works with the Swedish live and entertainment company Rush Entertainment and has been closely involved in the development of Rosendal Garden Party, a three-day festival taking place in Stockholm’s Djurgården.

In just a few years, Rosendal has established itself as one of Sweden’s most exciting festival concepts, bringing together international headliners, carefully selected emerging artists, food, art and experiences in a unique park setting. The festival has managed to build a strong identity and audience demand, with record numbers of tickets sold even before artists were announced.

At Nightlore, Magnus will share the Rosendal success story and the thinking behind it: how to build a distinctive festival concept, engage audiences and partners, make smart programming choices, and turn a series of concerts into a compelling festival experience.

Yksi päivä ja lukemattomia uusia kohtaamisia.
